After Everything – 2023
“After Everything” is a 2023 American romantic drama film and the fifth installment in the “After” film series. It is based on the characters from the “After” series of novels by Anna Todd. The film was written and directed by Castille Landon and stars Josephine Langford and Hero Fiennes Tiffin reprising their roles as Tessa Young and Hardin Scott, respectively.
The plot of “After Everything” revolves around Tessa and Hardin living separate lives after Hardin published a revealing book without her knowledge. Hardin, alone in England, retreats into drinking and other harmful habits while suffering from writer’s block. To make matters worse, he may have to return his advance if he doesn’t finish a new manuscript soon. Hardin realizes that in order to move forward and have a chance of winning back Tessa, he must right the wrongs from his past. The film also explores the preparations for Landon and Nora’s upcoming wedding, where Tessa and Hardin will be in attendance. The ultimate question is whether the couple can forgive each other and make the ultimate commitment.
“After Everything” was given a limited theatrical release in the United States on September 13, 2023, by Voltage Pictures. Fathom Events held special screenings of the film in the US on September 13 and 14, 2023. Internationally, it was released in select countries beginning September 13, 2023. The film was also released through video on demand in the US on October 3, 2023, and made available on Amazon Prime Video in the United Kingdom, France, Australia, and New Zealand on various dates in October 2023.
